About Pyrotec

Based in the South East of England, but active across the country, we are a privately owned company that has specialised in Fire Prevention, Detection and Protection, for over 20 years. We’ve built our business on being experts – but approachable experts – who can help you keep buildings and people safe from fire and explain, in simple terms, how best to do it.

Fire alarm system and fire extinguisher supply, installation, service and maintenance

This attitude has led to a company that’s unusually focused on getting things right – from the equipment we recommend and install, to the advice we give, to the relationships we build with our customers. It means we invest heavily in training our people – indeed in every part of our business – and that we make sure our advice is never more than an email or a phone call away.

It is also the reason we are heavily invested in ensuring we meet current standards and accreditations, such as:

  • IFE Institute of Fire Engineers applicable for Fire risk assessments
  • BAFE SP203 (Fire alarm systems, all modules) provided by SSAIB
  • ISO9001 (Quality management systems) provided by SSAIB
  • Part P electrical installations provided by ELECSA - required for any electrical work completed in domestic buildings including shared and common parts of flats and maisonettes (other terms include common ways, landlord areas). Part P is a building regulation requirement, is mandatory for qualifying work and requires the company to demonstrate competence and resource for accreditation
  • CHAS - Government-based health and safety assessment scheme for contractors
  • BAFE  SP101 (Fire Extinguishers) provided by BAFE
  • BAFE  ST04 (BAFE Registered Service Technicians) provided by BAFE
  • ISO 9001 (Quality management systems) provided by BSI

We are also actively involved with a number of trade membership schemes:

  • ECA - Electrical Contractors’ Association
This is a trade association but demands a high standard of technical qualification and competence for membership to be granted. Certification as an ECA approved contractor is equivalent to NICEIC accreditation. Members state their scope of work and are subject to technical inspection against those criteria.
  • FSA - Fire and Security Association
Another trade association. Forms a specialist division of the ECA and only BAFE SP203 or LPS1014 accredited companies are granted membership – an elite club of fire alarm professionals that promotes excellence in this sector.
  • FIA - Fire Industry Association
Members since 1993, another trade body that oversees the industry for both fire alarms and extinguisher sections. FIA formally FETA, is a valuable organisation that ensures good practice and high standards from its members. It provides and gives back up and technical assistance for any industry related client problems.

We’re also dedicated to finding better and more environmentally friendly ways to work, which is why we’ve recently adopted Personal Digital Assistants for all our technicians. This technology allows us to update them on any aspect of your project in real-time, without an extensive paper trail.

Better for you, better for the environment.
