Alarm Systems
Pyrotec
has an established reputation for providing quality fire
alarm installation and maintenance whatever the type of
system and building involved.
We
are now able to provide third party product certification
for all our fire alarm systems and services through accreditation
to the BAFE SP203 scheme (British Approvals for Fire Equipment
modular scheme for fire alarm systems).
This
scheme is a market standard for fire alarm companies and
the BFPSA now sets the scheme as a minimum entry requirement
for fire alarm related businesses.
We
are also:
Specialist members of the Electrical Contractors Association,
ISO 9001 accredited for quality management by the SSAIB
Part P accredited for electrical works in shared/domestic
buildings (building regulations requirement) by BRE Certification
CHAS accredited Contractors
All
of the above schemes and associations assess the quality
of our systems and/or workmanship on an ongoing basis.
System Categories:
Fire
alarm systems fall into different categories according to
their primary purpose – to protect life or property.
Category
‘L’ systems (Life protection) range from systems
including strategically placed automatic fire detection
(afd) and sounders to protect a single room (Category L5)
to complete afd coverage in all areas (Category L1) with
possible remote communication to other systems and alarm
receiving centres.
Category
‘P’ systems (Property protection) may also cover
a single specific risk (Category P2) or entire buildings
or estates (Category P1).
Category
‘M’ systems include manual call points and sounders
and may be incorporated in both of the above categories
or used in their own right without afd.
A
more detailed explanation of these categories can be found

System
Types:
We
are able to provide certificated design, installation, commissioning
and maintenance for all types of fire alarm system including
the following:
•
Wired non-addressable systems (Conventional fire alarms)
– typically used in smaller properties providing zone
indication of alarm areas.
•
Wired analogue addressable systems (Addressable fire alarms)
– used in most larger installations (8 zones or more)
from one building to entire estates of buildings. The systems
can be networked and give individual device information.
Integration with other building systems can be achieved
to form part of a complete fire protection solution for
any building.
•
Radio fire alarm systems – provide the options detailed
above without cable installation. These systems provide
a very practical solution in sensitive buildings or where
the disruption of installing a wired system is not acceptable.
Any
of the above systems can give fire alarm cover to any grade
or category of BS5839 depending on the environment where
they are fitted.
