Requirement

The customer required an equipment register showing the location of every fire extinguisher, hose reel and fire blanket to enable them to complete interim checks to ensure the equipment was in place and not tampered with, missing or damaged – this was away from the norm as in general at that time, only a summary of numbers were kept on our database.

Solution

On the next annual visit the service technician recorded the location, type, and age of each unit and this information was used to produce a fire equipment register. The register was provided to the customer on disc for their records and subsequently updated by our service technician and administration team following each visit.

Benefit to customer

The customer is now able to complete interim checks alerting us to any missing or damaged equipment thus ensuring that they are fully covered for all fire risks and compliant with current regulations at all times. This customer feels that Pyrotec have worked with them to resolve their issue.

Long term benefit to all Pyrotec customers

Out of this issue and solution evolved the idea to roll this out to all our customers and develop a new data base that will store this information and produce location lists that allow us to pre-empt any additional service costs annually because of equipment that is due testing etc. At the time of writing this type of system is pretty much unique to Pyrotec within the industry.
