STAFF FIRE TRAINING

The Legal Requirements:

Staff fire training is an essential part of employer's requirements of:

Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (As amended 1999).
  • The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order - (FSO).
  • To comply with Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
  • To save life and prevent injury to any person or employee within the workplace.
  • All employees have a duty of care to ensure they act in a safe manner and are aware of their responsibilities should and incident occur.

The Benefits of using Pyrotec for your staff fire training are:

  • All fire courses are completed at our customers premises, which reduces the amount of time employees are away from their work station or desk.
  • Qualified and insured Fire Trainers.
  • All courses include the use and demonstration of fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Staff are supervised and encouraged to use the equipment on small live fires whenever possible. The cost of this is included in the course price.
  • Various training courses available to meet your staff needs and levels of knowledge.
  • Employers receive a certificate of those attending the course. Individual certificates can be supplied at a small additional cost.
  • Up to 12 students allowed on every course within the quoted price

 

Courses Available (with brief course objective):

MOD 1 - For Supervisors and Fire Wardens (duration - approx 2.5 hours)

A course specifically designed to additional fire training to nominate staff who have specific fire safety responsibilities as required by the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations (amended 1999).

MOD 2 - A Basic Fire Training Course (duration - approx 1.5 hours)

A course designed to give basic fire training to staff who do not have specific fire safety responsibilities, as required by the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (amended 1999).

MOD 3 - A Training Course for Residential Homes Staff (duration - approx 1.5 hours)

A course designed for residential staff as required by the registration authorities following the guidelines in the Home Office "Draft guide to fire precautions in existing residential care premises".

MOD 4 - Refresher Course (duration - approx 1.5 hours)

A course designed to give refresher training to those staff who have already received previous training to ensure continued competence and update on new standards, legislation and regulations.

    How To Book A Course

    1. Confirm the type of course that is suitable for your employees

    2. Make a list of the numbers of staff that need to attend the course.

    3. Note the preferred date of the course, possible alternative dates are always useful too!

    4. Ensure a suitable room (board room size) and safe area outside (away from cars, buildings etc) is available for the training day.

    5. Provide an order number or authorisation for booking the course.
