This is because these cavities can act as a conduit through which fire and smoke can spread, much like a chimney. This is where a fire cavity barrier comes in. Fire barriers are installed to seal gaps, ensuring that fire and smoke can’t spread through these cavities and into other compartments.
Here at Pyrotec, we use our third-party, IFC-certified sister company, Fire Industry Specialists Ltd (FIS), to carry out cavity fire barrier installation throughout Brighton, Eastbourne, and Crawley, and nationwide with the help of our partner brands, Backed by the LS Fire Group.
Given that different buildings will require different types of fire barriers, our highly-knowledgeable team will be able to quickly assess which products would best suit your space, ensuring that both BS 9991 and BS 9999 are met.
